Milo Inglehart
Program Director, Gender Equity and LGBTQ Rights Program
Milo Inglehart (he/him or they/them) is the Program Director of the Gender Equity and LGBTQ Rights Program, where he works towards gender justice by promoting equity for women and all LGBTQ workers, including by addressing intersecting forms of oppression.
Prior to joining Legal Aid at Work, Milo was a Staff Attorney on the impact litigation team at Transgender Law Center. His work included challenges to bans on gender affirming care for young trans people in the South, narrow interpretations of federal anti-discrimination law, and the criminalization of HIV status. Recent cases include Kingdom v. Trump, a class action lawsuit on behalf of transgender people in federal prisons challenging a ban on gender-affirming care, and OUTMemphis v. Lee, a first of its kind lawsuit using the Americans with Disabilities Act to challenge a state law criminalizing HIV-status. Milo previously worked at the ACLU Criminal Law Reform Project as a COVID-19 Litigation Fellow, where they sued prisons and jails for failing to protect incarcerated people from the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a Redstone Legal Fellow at TLC, where they worked to expand healthcare access for transgender and nonbinary people. Before law school, Milo worked in the Policy & Innovation Division of the Office of the Speaker of the New York City Council on participatory governance projects and progressive policy initiatives.
Milo received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and undergraduate degree from Columbia University. He serves on the Board of Directors for the National Trans Bar Association and was a 2024 recipient of the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association’s Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40 Award.
Outside of work, Milo enjoys exploring parks with his spouse and dog, joining too many book clubs, and trying to grow tomatoes on his balcony.
