Kate Bass (she/her) is Staff Attorney with the Work & Family Program. Kate represents pregnant, breastfeeding, and caregiving individuals whose workplace rights have been violated. Kate also partners with service providers and advocacy groups to raise awareness about the right to reasonable accommodations, time off, to work free from discrimination, and other rights.

Prior to joining Legal Aid at Work, Kate was an associate at Altshuler Berzon LLP. Kate also clerked for the Honorable Marsha S. Berzon of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Honorable Rowan D. Wilson, Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals.

Kate received her B.A. from Middlebury College and J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where she was a Toll Public Interest Scholar. As a law student, Kate served as a law clerk at the Centro de los Derechos del Migrante and the Migrant Farm Worker Division of Colorado Legal Services. Prior to law school, Kate supported community-based movements for democracy and gender justice in Latin America and the Caribbean and the United States. Kate is a trained birth and abortion doula.
