Hundreds of Advocates Rallied at the State Capitol to Support Unemployment Insurance for Undocumented Workers
SB 227 would direct California to provide $300 of unemployment benefits weekly for up to 20 weeks for undocumented workers who pay for unemployment insurance but currently can’t receive it. “The state has an obligation to ensure that there’s a system in place that protects California workers that are major parts of significant industries,” said LAAW’s Kim Ouillette.
