The 2026 CA Fast Food Sex Harassment Worker Survey asked workers about Sex Harassment at their fast food jobs, including questions about their experiences with a range of sex harassment behaviors at work as well as the impacts these experiences
have had on working conditions, physical and mental health, and financial well-being. Workers were also asked about their employers’ response to these problems.
The survey was conducted in July 2026 by outreach workers in English and Spanish in July 2026 and included responses from over 200 workers at locations in 38 cities across Northern and Southern California, in major fast food brands including
McDonald’s, Subway, Jack In The Box, Taco Bell, Carl’s Jr., El Pollo Loco, Popeyes, KFC and others.
The report concludes with recommendations on how workers can be supported with Know Your Rights training tailored to characteristics of the California fast food industry, including supporting pilot Know Your Rights training programs at the local level, so that all fast food workers know about their rights and how to enforce them, including the right to work free of sex harassment.
