Today, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court’s ruling that Sweetwater Union High School District is out of compliance with Title IX. By affirming the lower court’s decision, the Ninth Circuit ensured that girls at Castle Park High School will finally be given the equal access to athletics that they deserve.

Today LAS-ELC traveled to Fresno to provide free legal services to homeless women veterans at the Fresno Women Veterans Stand Up. More than 200 people attended the event at the American Legion Post 500. Representative Jim Costa addressed the crowd and thanked women veterans for their service.

Today, Governor Brown took a historic step for working families and signed Assembly Bill 1522, which provides workers in California the guarantee of earned sick days, accruing one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, regardless of the size of the employer.
