We co-hosted a great event on Thursday, June 9, where employers learned how they, no matter how small or large, could improve their employee retention by changing their family leave policies.
Speakers included Teresa McDade, director of work and life benefits at Microsoft; James Jarvey, people operations manager at Particle; Jennifer Piallat, owner of Zazie restaurant; and Shannon Spanhake, founder and CEO of Lucy. Their discussion was moderated by Elizabeth Weingarten, the director of the Global Gender Parity Initiative at the New America Foundation.
Our co-hosts were the San Francisco Department of the Status of Women, New America, the Bay Area Council’s Women’s Bureau, and the San Francisco Office of Labor Standards. And the sponsors were Lucy, the Hotel Council of San Francisco, the Center for Work Life Law at UC Hastings College of the Law, and the Friends of the Commission on the Status of Women.
